Sage Joins Alliance Against Bristol Bay's Pebble Mine
As an angler, it is likely that at some point you have come across the names of Southeast Alaska's most famous fisheries: the Kvichak, Alagnak, Nushagak, Newhalen. Ever heard of Lake Iliamna? Lake Clark? Maybe you don't know the rivers and the lakes, but surely you heave heard of Bristol Bay, one of the most prolific salmon fisheries in the world. For those of you have visited these majestic lands, it is no secret that they are some of the most beautiful, nevermind pristine, places in the world.
Unfortunately, as we write, the lifeblood of this anglers valhalla is being threatened by the possible installation of North America's largest open-pit gold-copper mine.
Please join with Sage, AFFTA, Trout Unlimited, the Sportsman's Alliance for Alaska, the Alaska Renewable Resource Coalition and 37 other members of the fly fishing industry in the fight against this potentially devastating project.
